Power BI Report using JSON
The data for this visualisation is pulled from a free API that returns the data in JSON format. Once you have that data you can choose how to visualise the information.
This report gives a timeline over 100 years which enables the stacked column chart to be edited using DAX and by formatting tips that show a similar effect to a GANTT chart.
A tooltip is then created which allows you to hover over the bars to give further information.
Most of the reports I work on are commercially sensitive, however, I find this initiative by a group of amazing data evangelists really help develop the visual aspects of Power BI but also give a chance to showcase what Power BI can do.
Keeping current and up-to-date is essential in this industry, and this is an excellent way to do this visually
